And now to reflect

As I reflect over this past semester, creativity and communication stands out. It stands out because it was a course on a idea that I was interested in as a life pursuit. Through this course I got to investigate something I never really understood

Throughout my life I was always told in different ways that I was very creative, But to me I thought this just meant I was eccentric and interested in more arty things, but I thought this meant that I was only good at visual tasks not academic based things.

From this course I have gained a whole new way of thinking and have learnt that to have a skill of creativity is a great asset and that there are different ways of using this tool of creation and imagination. Thanks to the guidance of my fellow classmates, Edward De Bono and of course Peter.

Blogging throughout this course has been a highlight for me. It has given me a chance to let me investigate about my learning and others. As this year has been very creative based for me with some of the work that I have been doing such as the Telethon and Fashion week it has been great to incorporate it with my learning and assignments. Overall I think that my work experience has benefited me more as I got a whole new way of thinking and looking into a event.

There were struggles along the way within this course but a great challenge, Those who have made it here to the final reflection will agree they feel they have conquered something if not themselves. I myself can say at one point I was ready to take the easy way out and not put all my enthusiasm into this course. I am so grateful that I continued on.

Peter’s words of  “I reward excellence, I reward outrages failure…but I do not reward mediocrity” helped me highly and gave me hope that it did not matter if I did not quite hit the target and got things wrong but that it is more important that I tried and put all my effort into it. Therefore it’s better to have tried than not to have tried at all!

With the knowledge I have gained over this semester I have found a new confidence in my ideas, I know that there are a lot of ideas and visions I hold in my head and that in the past they have just seemed like a nice idea or dream but now hopefully I can turn some of these into the real thing!

I have always thought that one can not always know were they are going and that the small things in life can make the big choices so I cannot now say to myself what I will be doing once I graduate but that I know my future will be bright and that working behind a desk will not be for me!

I hope to continue with my blogging and I hope that maybe fellow classmates will continue on as well, not for an assignment but to continue sharing their thoughts and ideas. I hope to hear of others creative paths!

I believe that creativity should be celebrated and it is one of the greatest things us humans hold

Keep harvesting and remember to move those hats around!
